The View from Here :: More Beauty

Filana Crayons

Months ago, I had sent away for my Little Orphan Annie Secret Decoder Pin. . . No, not really.  But, I did donate to the fundraiser for Filana crayons and they finally arrived yesterday.  Oh, they are so nice!  The envelope and note were handwritten, which made them even more special.  Roan and Willow really enjoyed using them.  I think we are in a real drawing boom around here.  The best paper for crayons, I think, is also one of the more frugal--that sold as "doodle" paper or newsprint.  It takes the color so well.  The children are working on using these new crayons gently and I am still plugging away on my block crayon skills.  I hope to have a nice picture to share some day soon.  Times are still challenging, still unsure, but we are surrounded with so much beauty, inside our little home and out.

A Blessed Wilderness

It was just like being in heaven, being in there. In those days there was no road. The park was all a blessed wilderness. I have often thought what a wonderful people we would have been if we had wanted to keep it that way.
