Weekend Views

It's quiet here now, an over-stimulated Laurel Mae is napping
and the others have gone to the woods with our company.
I'm trying to make the most of it.

Heads meet Arms

Heads have met arms and they'll soon meet bodies.
That part makes me a little nervous.
I'm practicing my invisible backstitch.
Every doll I make is a step forward.

Solstice Clothes

We officially wore out our first set of sheets this week.
It took nine years, so that's pretty good for non-vintage sheets.
The perfectly fine top sheet finds life for dolls and children alike.
I'm going to call them the Winter Fields collection.
I know they'll be loved.  I wonder if I can hide them away until the Solstice.

Record Cake

Mike gets to celebrate his birthday again with a second cake.
Since he's 33, he wanted a 33 1/3 cake--a Beatles record.
Black sanding sugar sure is intense, but he was pleased.

Now, back to cutting out some snowy day pants for Roan.  Snow.  Sigh.

Love the cake! And the pretty wintry pattern of your sheets. Those will make some lovely clothes.

Thanks! Yes, they will. I'm thinking of lining Roan's pants with white flannel.

A Blessed Wilderness

It was just like being in heaven, being in there. In those days there was no road. The park was all a blessed wilderness. I have often thought what a wonderful people we would have been if we had wanted to keep it that way.
