Crafting On

I've had or made more time for crafting in the past week.
A fog seems to have lifted and things are feeling a little less challenging in that area.

Dressed Dolls

The dolls got pajamas, which they are so pleased about.
They've got daytime clothes awaiting the sewing machine
and I am turning over ideas for warm hats and socks for them.
In the meanwhile, they are getting lots of love from the children.

Covered Pillow

I sewed up a pillow cover for a friend who had this on her to-do list for some time.

Lined Pants

And I nearly finished a dress and flannel-lined pants for the children.
My plan is to finish them in secret and squirrel them away for Willow's birthday.
Virginia has a matching dress, to be certain.

Overdyeing Silks

I overdyed some of our silks that were looking a little pale.
I think they had been dyed with kool-aid initially.
I used food coloring and had great results,
including the brown one you can see on the far left.
That's for the root children, I am told.

Koolaid Yarn

I also dyed some yarn that blakdove sent with kool-aid, since I had a few packets.
It turned out good, nice Autumn colors that don't really photograph well.
We'll use it for finger knitting.

I've also cast on a newborn sized Lil Bean pilot cap, but I'll have a picture of that next week.
For now, my hands are cold and I have a sleepy little boy who needs a blanket over him on this chilly morning.

Everything you do is so beautiful. Giddy saw the pic of the dolls and pointed at his and said, "that's me!!" It was so cute. I love the yarn, the color is beautiful.

A Blessed Wilderness

It was just like being in heaven, being in there. In those days there was no road. The park was all a blessed wilderness. I have often thought what a wonderful people we would have been if we had wanted to keep it that way.
