These Days

PlentyA bullet list for a rainy day.

*Laurel Mae has her first tooth!  It's on the bottom.
*She's also interested in food now and gets upset if you don't share with her.  Very tiny bites, so far.
*We took the children to the O. Winston Link museum yesterday and got in free.  It helps when you get there 40 minutes *before closing.
*The rail yard and turntable proved to be just as interesting to look at from the bridge.
*I have to remake a body on one of the Waldorf dolls.  Learned my lesson about marking fabric.
*I'm glad I caught my mistake (revealed when I put a Tide to Go pen on the dolls) before I mailed off the dolls.
*Mike got his first sort of paycheck yesterday.  Small, but something!
*I have a long list of fun things I'd like to make and nearly zero time to do it.  I'm hoping that shifts soon.
*I have another list of fun breads to make, too.  Maybe I'll knock one out today.
*I think I'll have to send Willow out in the rain to collect leaves today.  It's not going to let up any time soon.
*Fried chicken for lunch today!
*Mike has a busy week ahead.  It will be one that we'll just have to get to the other side of and then breathe a sigh of relief.
*Willow's birthday is in two weeks.  She wants a honey cake.  Roan says it needs a raspberry-blueberry sauce.
*Laurel's birthday is ten days after that.  She wants a banana.
*And she's awake.  Time to get going!

Thanks! I made popovers, which were a big hit with Willow.

A Blessed Wilderness

It was just like being in heaven, being in there. In those days there was no road. The park was all a blessed wilderness. I have often thought what a wonderful people we would have been if we had wanted to keep it that way.
