Christmas Views

It was a simple morning at our house.
A quiet start with a little candy and two gifts for each of the children--a toy and a book.

Just enough.

Three Days on a River in a Red Canoe

Laurel got her baby back and Willow has named her Snowflake Baby.
She carried her around almost the entire morning, even away from home.

Holding her baby

Roan got a sewing machine from my grandmother
and he's been making me Christmas bows.

Willow set out gifts for Baby Jesus and we wished him a Happy Birthday.
I never tire of her arrangements.  I think she'll have a lovely home someday.

It's warm today, so the children climbed trees and Laurel Mae mowed the yard.
It was her first time.  Now, she and Roan are sleeping off the excitement.

Yesterday was a bit overwhelming for this introvert, though I know that it doesn't take much to do it.  A warm house, full of people, all with different personalities.  Let's just say I was so glad to come to our quiet little house for a few hours before loading up again.  I've decided to take the next 10 days to really get things in order around here and plan our next session of school.  I'm excited.  Now, I better seize naptime and get to work!

Such sweet pictures. I am feeling the need to introvert today, as well. Three days in a row of socializing seems to be my absolute limit.

Yes, I have a plugged duct today, too. I wanted to go hiking, but decided to stay home instead.

It's a pajama set that I found a Goodwill! It was brand new and is that flame retardant stuff, though it seems like classy flame retardant stuff.

The Vermont Country store has a large selection. I had the nightgowns, too. Back when they were still flannel. I have several waiting for me when nursing is over. And yes, the same pajamas you remember. I had the same set as Willow and wore it out. I got some cardinal Lanz pajamas for Christmas this year.

A Blessed Wilderness

It was just like being in heaven, being in there. In those days there was no road. The park was all a blessed wilderness. I have often thought what a wonderful people we would have been if we had wanted to keep it that way.
