There and Back Again

We returned yesterday afternoon from our trip down South.
It was warmish and we happily shed our mittens and coats.
That place always tires this introvert out.
City living, despite its trappings, is not for me.
I am meant to be cloistered.

Picnic

We found bits of nature along the way, opting for picnics coming and going.

Holly

This made our trip fairly peaceful and helped to regain some of our family equilibrium.
It is fun to get away and be with family we don't see often, but nothing beats this little group of five.

Lichen

Back home, we have strong, gusty winds and the promise of zero degree weather in the middle of the week.

Merry Twelfth Day of Christmas!

Welcome back! There is indeed no place like home and being with one's own little family. Love the bright pictures.

A Blessed Wilderness

It was just like being in heaven, being in there. In those days there was no road. The park was all a blessed wilderness. I have often thought what a wonderful people we would have been if we had wanted to keep it that way.
