Crafting On

We're getting excited about Valentine's day here.  Like many celebrations and seasonal changes, having children has brought new meaning and joy to the day.  As I've said, we're doing a swap with other Enki families.

I wove felt heart baskets (or totes, if you've listened to Martin & Sylvia).
Willow stitched most of the handles in place.

Mice and Candles

She cut out heart mice, too.
In the back are the candles we made using the leftover ends.
We have plans to make more later this week.

First Blanket

Laurel has taken joy in my very first sewing project.
I made this little blanket 23 years ago with my Grandma Lois.
It has all kinds of buttons sewn one corner.
She was trying to button it on herself.

Mermaid Tail

At last, Virginia has her mermaid tail.
I used this pattern, but crocheted the tail for ease and speed.
The yarn is greener, but I couldn't get a picture of the true color.

I'm still chugging along on the Tomten Jacket, but there's not much excitement in a growing rectangle.  Roan has put in his order for the next one.  He's been going around with keys tied around his middle, saying he's a tomten.  Better get knitting.

Oh, I love the mermaid tail! And the sweet little valentine treats.

Thanks! I've since made some straps for the tail. :-)

A Blessed Wilderness

It was just like being in heaven, being in there. In those days there was no road. The park was all a blessed wilderness. I have often thought what a wonderful people we would have been if we had wanted to keep it that way.
