Crafting On :: In the Snow

We're staying warm here, enjoying the wonderful brightness that a world covered in snow brings.  Since it's been too cold to enjoy our new backporch space (snow even came in under the door!), I've taken to hand sewing.  And, of course, handwork while children play is always a good way to productively hold the space.

Kitchen Hideaway

A repurposed curtain for an empty under-counter space.
This used to cover the window on the front door.
I simply hemmed it shorter, a quick job.
It's good for hiding and storing some emergency firewood.

Tomten Jacket

Marked progress on the Tomten Jacket.
I'm halfway through the hood now.
Sleeves, a border, and then a choice about buttons or a zipper.

A Blessed Wilderness

It was just like being in heaven, being in there. In those days there was no road. The park was all a blessed wilderness. I have often thought what a wonderful people we would have been if we had wanted to keep it that way.
