The View from Here

In the Snow

My two intrepid travelers last week.  The snow has been so deep and powdery that it's been impossible to go sledding.  I pulled Laurel along and she kept falling over.  Bless her heart, she was so patient with me.  It's melted a little, snowed five more inches, rained a little, melted a little and gotten another dusting this morning just as I was thinking we'd see grass today.  The school children have missed seven days.  Us, though, we keep on.  I'm having a bit of a circle time slump this week, when I really should have kept January's all through February.  We were doing so well with it.  I think we'll do adventure walks to work out the inevitable rowdiness and heaviness of this time of year.  March is just around the corner and I am so ready.

A Blessed Wilderness

It was just like being in heaven, being in there. In those days there was no road. The park was all a blessed wilderness. I have often thought what a wonderful people we would have been if we had wanted to keep it that way.
