The View from Here :: Fingerknitting

FInger knitting

Round the pond he swims,
Finds a lily pad,
hop! hop! hop!
Diving, he's so glad.

~Enki Crafts

Call me the knitter who was afraid to teach my own child to knit.  Or finger knit, especially since I didn't know how to do it until yesterday.  Stressful efforts with a knitting spool left us needing another way.  And it was something I just never covered in kindergarten.  I think there are times when you have to find the right moment and yesterday was it!  So much easier than a knitting spool and Willow loved the Fall-colored yarn.

A Blessed Wilderness

It was just like being in heaven, being in there. In those days there was no road. The park was all a blessed wilderness. I have often thought what a wonderful people we would have been if we had wanted to keep it that way.

~Adolph Murie, biologist, on Denali
