Quiet Time Views

It may be that my nursing days are soon ending.  Not really all at once, but more of a gradual stepping away, as it should be.  As this point, on this day, Laurel is my longest nurser at two years and four months.  She has started sleeping all night nearly every night and is able to get back to sleep in the daytime by just being held.  I've never been one to really hold my children until they fall asleep--nursing or wearing have been my methods.  It's a very sweet thing and, maybe for Laurel, it is better than her sometimes wild version of nursing.

As feisty as Laurel is, there are such sweet moments, too.
The other day after lunch, she made herself a little bed on the floor to go to sleep.

Bedded Down

Her pillow kept slipping away, so I suggested she move in under the canopy, which is now by the couch.
After a bit of tossing and turning and talking, she went to sleep!

This hasn't happened again, but maybe it will.

A Blessed Wilderness

It was just like being in heaven, being in there. In those days there was no road. The park was all a blessed wilderness. I have often thought what a wonderful people we would have been if we had wanted to keep it that way.
