May Clicks!

It's a dark and cloudy morning, with just a hint of rain in the air.  I'm hoping for a real shower to get my gardens jump-started.  There are still squash, pumpkins, watermelons, and beans to sprout.  Here are some clicks for this quiet morning when everyone(!) is at home and in bed.
Now, it's time to get started.  I hear the rumble of little feet!

I'm really enjoying your collection of links. The Medieval art humor is priceless. : ) Kurt Hahn interests me, too - he has some good points. I really liked the one about the Waldorf School Garden; I needed that - we just have to push through the last phase of getting the garden ready. Carrie's post was nice, too - I hear what she is saying, about compromises. I do agree - sometimes we need to adapt to our circumstances and our children's inclinations. I know in the beginning, I was somehow "against compromise" in our home education myself, but I can be more flexible now. Children and electronic devices - it makes me so sad, to see this, nearly everywhere we go. Not just children, but adults. I don't have a cell phone. I know I may need to get one when the children are older and do more away from the home, but for now I can enjoy being "Old School" and being viewed as a total weirdo / Luddite by the rest of society. : ) - Stacey

Thanks for sharing your thoughts! I appreciate your wisdom and experience. I am a Luddite, too. Even my grandmother has a space phone (though I don't think she's sold on it).

Ah singing, isn't it wonderful? I get out my guitar a few nights a week after dinner and we all sing together. It brings such deep joy. I loved that about living in Scotland, all the communal singing. It's good for the soul. So happy to incorporate that into our daily life.

I love it when children start making up their own songs :)

It is! My friend Susan has singing each day with her children, now nearly (or completely) grown.

A Blessed Wilderness

It was just like being in heaven, being in there. In those days there was no road. The park was all a blessed wilderness. I have often thought what a wonderful people we would have been if we had wanted to keep it that way.
