Return of The Dress

It seems I have gotten my energy back for sewing.  Laurel has transitioned from needing me to nurse her to sleep to needing me to walk her to sleep to just (hopefully!) lying quietly untill she's asleep.  If nothing else, she will ride in the kinderpack on my back while I sit at the sewing machine.  It's been a big help and I'm getting some rest myself, along with being able to complete some projects and feel productive.

The New Dress and Sweater

Here's Willow's dress again.  I really, really love this fabric.  I call it The Dress because I have made so many of them.  It was a dollar pattern from Wal-Mart years ago.  I had two copies and lost both and borrowed one, so The Dress lives again!

Corduroy Dress

Here's Laurel's version.  She refuses to wear it, since there's a hint of warmth in the weather this week.  I know she will love it, though.  She loves all these dresses because she can put them on herself.  Both were made from fabric I got for free from Enid's supply.  I love being able to make things in a range of fabrics without worry of cost.

Martinmas, still

And here's the little Martinmas sweater in the daylight. It is still plugging along. I was quite tired in the evenings over the past week, so I did not make the progress I had hoped for. Oh, well. There's still plenty of time before the lantern walk.

Your Martinmas is gorgeous - I love the gold! I was hoping my Kitty would wear hers for this year but alas her small brother decided it needed a wash and shoved it in the machine when our backs were turned and now it would fit her teddy!

I'll have to look and see. It's so versatile. I make it much longer than it is supposed to be, but I have these tall children. ;-)

A Blessed Wilderness

It was just like being in heaven, being in there. In those days there was no road. The park was all a blessed wilderness. I have often thought what a wonderful people we would have been if we had wanted to keep it that way.
