BioI’m a child of the mountains, forever tied to the land and destined to live out my hundred years here. My husband Mike and I were married at Elk Garden near Mount Rogers on the Appalachian Trail. It was spring and the trilliums and trout lilies were blooming all around. Our daughter Willow was born on the first snow of the season in 2008, and we hope this symbol of peace will serve her well.
We live in Southwest Virginia and find this rugged landscape to be a wonderful inspiration in our lives. Life here is not always easy, but we have come to value a simpler way of being. My life is full of sewing, knitting, cooking, hiking, volunteering, visiting neighbors and working to live peace. That’s my leisure and it is what you make it. I’m the enthusiastic one wherever I go and I do believe God will give me the strength to be a light in the mountains every day of my life.
