Crafting On :: Zimmermann Knits

I'm pressing myself hard to really get some knitting done.  I'm working in the car, outside while Willow rides a real bike(!) and while little ones snooze on a breezy afternoon.  Reading The Opinionated Knitter has gotten me inspired.  So, the long lost Christmas hat series continues and I get a solid start on the Tomten jacket.

Yay knitting! I love the color for the Tomten.

I have spent most of my time here knitting, because there are fewer chores and a smaller space. It's nice. However, before kids, I loved complex cable or lace projects and dint like to repeat patterns. Now, I'm all about garter or stockinette in the round, and will make the same thing over and over to speed things up. And also so kids don't fight about which is whose! I still do enjoy more complex patterns, but I have to have a simpler project as well, to work on whole the kids play or on nights when I just can't handle anything complicated. Those nights are frequent.

Thanks! It's the Fairy Tale WOA.

Yes, I love repetitive patterns that don't require too much of me, since there's always something going on in the background.

Love the colourway. Elizabeth Zimmerman is great to read. I often re-read her books.

Thank you! I really enjoy her books, too. She must have been a very special person.

Thanks! It does. I am thinking of making one for me. After I fill the other orders. ;-)

A Blessed Wilderness

It was just like being in heaven, being in there. In those days there was no road. The park was all a blessed wilderness. I have often thought what a wonderful people we would have been if we had wanted to keep it that way.
