CandlemasThe days are seeming to fly lately, or Wednesday sneaks up on me.  It's my designated mopping day, but I never seem ready for it.  I'm thinking I'll move it to Tuesdays.  I've been mulling over a new pattern to days for some time now, maybe since the beginning of Winter.  It's taking shape a little better--themed days for breakfast really suit me.  Willow is in love with rice pudding, after all.

In other news, we did most of Candlemas by candlelight.  I conceded to a few lamps to take the edge off the darkness, since young children need good lighting for their antics.  It cold and gray and a little snowy.  We are still suffering (a relative term) from a major snow shortage.  It snows every week, but never enough to amount to much.  More is on the way tomorrow, just a dusting.  Public schools have still be closing, silly as it seems, for things like cold and hard frosts.  It's becoming a joke.

I suppose I could say more about our days, but it all sounds dull when I write it out.  We are keeping on, school is happening, Willow is doing well with it, and I am getting better at holding it together.  Speaking of that, I have laundry to fold and, oh, supper!  Sourdough pancakes!

A Blessed Wilderness

It was just like being in heaven, being in there. In those days there was no road. The park was all a blessed wilderness. I have often thought what a wonderful people we would have been if we had wanted to keep it that way.
