More Treasures

People around us are doing a bit of clearing out lately.  Some are moving and others are trying to live lighter in their current space.  I've just hauled off a fair amount myself, so I have room to take on a few things.

Flower Fairies!

Carrie gave me these books, and several others, from a friend of hers.  What a treasure these are!  I had wanted to add some to our family library and this is the best way to do it!

Bunk Bed detail

The top bunk was located and I thought I would show the artwork that is on the headboard of both little beds.  Willow's own top bunk arrived last week, so doll bunk beds have come to us with amazing timing.

All together now

Initially, it was girls on the top bunk and boys on the bottom, but that didn't seem right.  So, nearly all the dolls made themselves cozy on the top bunk.  The bunting dolls and their beds are down on the bottom.

Ice Cream Maker

This ice cream maker, brand new and probably 47 years old, was left on a giant pile of books I'm going to help someone donate.  We made raspberry custard ice cream in it yesterday, even though I have a freezer bowl for my mixer.  It was wonderful and quick!  The packaging praised the quality of the item and how it's meant for many years of use.  Ahhh, the world before planned obscelescence really took hold.  It was made here in Virginia, too!

These aprons were in my grandmother's attic. I had been wanting some full aprons, as much as I love Grandma Lois's cobbler aprons. It is a joy to wear them, even if they are a bit too long for my short torso.

Well, it's taken me two days to compile this. The rain has stopped and Roan wants to go on a walk.  Time to get moving!

I thought you would be pleased by the fairy books. :-) Yes, my little elf, or Tomten, as he would prefer. ;-)

That ice-cream maker is a beauty! I love the bunk beds and aprons, too.

It is! I am hoping to make more soon. Perhaps I should bring it on our trip to Atlanta. . .

A Blessed Wilderness

It was just like being in heaven, being in there. In those days there was no road. The park was all a blessed wilderness. I have often thought what a wonderful people we would have been if we had wanted to keep it that way.
