Lakeview

A fever has been making its way through the children this week. Laurel is better now, and she was on the mend yesterday, so we went up to see her lake. Roan said he was chilly on the way home and Willow was the last to say she was cold, just after lunch today.

Still, the water and views were a balm to our moods.

Laurel Bed Blueberries

There were a few blueberries in the woods.
They were so tiny, three fit in an acorn top.

Mushroom

The mushroom weather continues.

Bluejay Feather

I found this lovely bluejay tail feather.

And we did a fair amount of wading.

Lakeview 2

The water is up from all the rains, which is so nice to see.

Wading

I coaxed Laurel out of her bad mood by showing her bugs on trees.

On the back

It was a nice visit, all around, even though a diaper did leak on my back and we got stuck in traffic on the way home. I had a feeling last week to get the yard mowed Saturday and keep this week clear. I'm glad I went with it.

It was, just the perfect weather. Thank you for your well wishes. And hey--I've gotten done with the Tomten Jacket. Just have to put in the zipper.

A Blessed Wilderness

It was just like being in heaven, being in there. In those days there was no road. The park was all a blessed wilderness. I have often thought what a wonderful people we would have been if we had wanted to keep it that way.
