Crafting On :: Catching Up

Three weeks' worth of work!  Here it is, all together.
I find myself wishing I had more to show for it, oddly,
but there have been evenings I have been too sleepy to knit
and days where it has been too cold to sit still for long.

Sun Bonnet

I made this bonnet from Simplicity's most recent costume patterns.
It's an adult size, but it does decently on Willow.
Some of our bonnets are really old and others are just too small.

Children's Year Bonnet

These are the baby bonnet pattern from The Children's Year.
I made them larger, of course, and they turned out very well!
It's not often one has avocado velvet, so this seemed like the perfect use.
I consider them Winter-Spring bonnets.

The Bonnet Bunch

We're crazy for bonnets around here lately.

Becky's Hat

Here's some Christmas crafting.  The first is Becky's hat.
There was one last year and this is another.
I had typed up the pattern so that I could duplicate it and that did not work!
My old directions and same needle size did not yield the same results.
I don't know what happened, but I had to make up the pattern again.
Oh, well, I think 2.0 looks nice, too.

January Knits

And here's some more Christmas knitting.
The Optimistic Mitts are done and I've started on Man Hands.
I wanted to make them on two needles, so I have to make a few modifications.
There's the Hugo poncho, too, though that's not a holdover from Christmas.

It's obvious I've had more enthusiasm for sewing lately, but this week has been very cold and that must hold off awhile.  I keep waiting for my knitting to get exciting and, no, it hasn't.  I just want to get done with these projects, honestly, and move on to something else.

Oh, wow - this is all so adorable! I *love* the bonnets! The avocado green velvet is wonderful indeed, and that first bonnet in blue - ! You're making me want to make bonnets now. ~ Stacey

Thanks! The blue seemed perfect for a bonnet. :-)

A Blessed Wilderness

It was just like being in heaven, being in there. In those days there was no road. The park was all a blessed wilderness. I have often thought what a wonderful people we would have been if we had wanted to keep it that way.
