Views from Here

Laurel's Christmas doctor kit seemed to be prophetic.  She's seen her fair share of all these tools in the past week.  I am happy to report that her finger is healing well, though it will not look like it did before.  She has been very patient all along and the other children have been very empathetic and careful with her.  Here's Doctor Lamby looking after Sandy.

In other news, I added this piece of contemplative art to our home awhile back, Raphael's Sistine Madonna.  I haven't made mention of it to the children, though they have obviously noticed.  This gave me a little chuckle the other day, the outside world versus thoughtful beauty.  It's not real credit card, of course.

The children are having a bath right now and I am enjoying a rare, tidy moment. Mondays are becoming my favorite day of the week after the disarray of the weekends. I work to have things ready to go on Sunday evenings--counters clear, laundry folded, house tidied, lesson plans switched to the new week. I feel hopeful today and it is nice to greet February in this way. January was so long and felt like an uphill journey. It is good to turn a new page.

Is that credit card tucked into the picture, or painted in?

I love Mondays. They are my favorite. Nice hopeful start to the week, and I'm usually most productive on Mondays.

Roan tucked it in there. :-) I feel so thoughtful and prepared today, it's amazing!

A Blessed Wilderness

It was just like being in heaven, being in there. In those days there was no road. The park was all a blessed wilderness. I have often thought what a wonderful people we would have been if we had wanted to keep it that way.
