The View from Here :: On A Spring Day

Though the winds are still doing battle over the seasons, it seems Winter really is gone.  Our little yard seems to be a bubble in what is becoming very Springy place.  Our own bulbs are just putting up flower buds (or none at all!), but a walk across the street shows something very different.

The Found Mitten

Here's Roan's long-lost mitten.
These were the four year old mittens, I think?
We have one that is okay.

Peach Blossoms

I take this same picture every year, it seems.
How can I help myself?
The mystery and wonder never change.

More Peach Blossoms

These peach trees of Don never do much, making tiny peaches with huge stones.
Their joy in Spring is undeniable, though.
You can see that our budding herbalist is collecting for her remedies.

The Herbalist

I had to make Willow a skirt right after our morning lesson yesterday.
It seems making historical clothing is in my future (and present).
I told Roan I saw Daniel Boone patterns in size 12 on Ebay.
Twelve is the magic age, it seems.  Give me 4 just a little bit longer.

The Wagon Puller

And here's the girl with the backward overalls.
Give her the challenging tasks and she will do them.

Light at the End of the Day

I snapped this picture after someone dropped my camera, to make sure all was well.
But the light this time of year.  Evenings are golden (and a little wild!).
A Spring sleep is well-earned.

Another beautiful set of pictures. I love that Willow is a budding herbalist. :) I was, too, at her age.

A Blessed Wilderness

It was just like being in heaven, being in there. In those days there was no road. The park was all a blessed wilderness. I have often thought what a wonderful people we would have been if we had wanted to keep it that way.
